Upon notification, determine status & location of member. If member is not on status & law enforcement has not engaged and/or the incident does not involve the member’s dependent determine if, and/or what support is needed.
When responding to a Domestic Violence incident, think safety. Never go alone and always exercise extreme caution even if the offender is no longer present. Give consideration to the possibility the offender may return to the scene.
Remember, Do NOT discuss possible consequences with your member.
First sergeants are not there to investigate, our focus is Airman Care!

3. Consider no contact order

Gather the following:
Status of member
Rank, Name, & SSN of member
Spouse Name
Was member arrested? – If so, contact responding law enforcement to see if member will be released on bail
