NO CONTACT ORDER
No contact orders are similar to civilian temporary restraining orders. They are orders directed to military members, prohibiting them from communication or physical contact with a particular person or persons. The Commander has inherent authority to direct their members’ actions that affect military service and the good order and discipline of the unit.
A Commander with authority over a member can issue orders to an Airman that the Airman must comply with between drills so long as their is a nexus back to the Airman’s military affiliation and readiness. Think of the ways in which we tell members what to do during the month as it relates to drug policy, dental readiness, or conduct in the civilian community.
