Recommended action for member death NOT on active duty:

-Obtain marital status & dependent information
-Contact your unit commander & verify appointment of FAR

Casualty Assistance Rep (CAR)
Prepares notification team and ensures casualty benefits are paid
Casualty Augmentation Support Team (CAST)
FSS Team, supports CAR & CC
Family Assistance Rep (FAR)
Nominated by CC; AF member who assists surviving family with array of support agencies
Mortuary Officer (MO)
AF POC for mortuary entitlements of deceased
Person Authorized to Direct Disposition (PADD)
Designated in vRED (usually NOK); final disposition of remains
Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Dues-paying members and life members of NGAUS or EANGUS have AD&D benefit at no extra cost to the member.
$2,500 in coverage
No enrollment requirements
NGAUS/EANGUS HQ must verify dues are current
